School Supplies Writing Paper in Q&A
What kind of writing paper is mainly used in high school? Wide ruled or college ruled? and What are the main school supplies needed/mainly used in high school? Thank you in advance. Enjoy the rest of your day =]

LD, last line. replied: "I write on whatever paper I can find... If you're talking about papers you're turning in (as opposed to note taking), usually college ruled. I had one class throughout my high school career that required wide ruled. I think it was a math class, too. Um. Pens, pencils, highlighters, binders, a calculator, your books..."

red_chalk replied: "None of my teachers really care - but I use college ruled anyway because you can fit more on the sheet. You're gonna need the basics like pen, pencil, paper, binder. But also what I've found REALLY handy is white-out. Not the liquid white-out but the white-out tape. For when you write essays. :)"

persuasive paper on extending high school to 5 years? im writing a paper on extending high school to 5 years. i am against it and one reason is because it would cost the state more money to busy supplies and add more teachers. what would be a good counter argument for this? i already have every other reason i need for my paper. i just need to know what a benefit would be of giving the schools money

kaceyt13 replied: "Because you turn Legally an adult at 18, your senior year, which means your moving on out of Highschool and preparing for more advanced learning. Because the highschools cannot be over crowded There is no curriculum for this new grade, would take years to come up with a set standard of things to leran"

Sami replied: "people would have less time to 'live' and pursue their happiness they already have learned enough to get by if they would like to continue their education go to college students' concentration would break"

writing emails to step kids/ or should i write paper letters? i just sent emails to my kids. i haven't seen them since aug. but i have sent school supplies. i didn't make them but i have been with them for 7 years, now that me and my ex are getting a divorce, she is playing the "they are my kids" game. anyways, i sent emails instead of written letters, is that the same/ or should i send them written letters? any one out there doing the same to your ex? what would you like the father to do. she is getting child support already from bio-father, so is it more money she wants? i thought we needed time apart to see what we wanted, but then she said she was inlove with someone else and was going to move in with him, so i had to be happy for her and move on. i told her i was not going to give her anymore money. she is double dipping. getting child support and working. whay would i give her more money?

turtles run replied: "if she is asking money from you then yeah its about money... but if she is not i think she just wants to be left alone"

Book Authors/Talkers On The Mood replied: "Good old slow mail. It's more sentimental."

Emily Hobhouse replied: "She wants you out of her life, probably. They are her children and you have no rights to them. Why did your marriage break up? Of course it would be better for the children to have a relationship with you, but you can't expect that their mother would be delighted with it. Mothers are only human too, and they have feelings of hurt, etc etc. People expect mothers to "do the best for their children" but that's not always possible when your own emotional needs block out what is best for the children. My father, for example, did this kind of thing when he had a new girlfriend. He was determined for us to accept her, even though we didn't want to be with the woman who hurt our mother. I would suggest that you strive for a neutral meeting ground - try to be polite. The calmer things are, the better it will be for the children. I can't see the difference between writing emails and real letters. Edit: Okay, now you've added more information - I think she just wants you out of her life. What a pity. I can only suggest that you do keep things calm and hopefully she will let you have a relationship with the children. It must be really hard to be in your position - I am sorry. Life is cruel. And just as cruel for the children. Good luck."

CM replied: "Are they your kids or step kids? Either way I think it is great that you write them letters. I think the emails are the best way to go because you don't know if she would give them the paper ones or not. Don't give her more money. That is dumb."

What do schools want me to supply as a writing sample? I am applying to grad school, and one of the schools suggested that I attatch a writing sample in addition to my letter of intent. I understand submitting a letter of intent, but what do they want as a writing sample?.... a research paper, or report I wrote from any class?

corvus37 replied: "If you are applying to Grad School, they will want a writing sample in your declared major. For example, if you are getting a Master's degree in English, then you should submit a writing sample of a very good English paper that you wrote from a class. The writing sample is a way of Grad Schools seeing how well you can write and is a part of their decision making process on whether to accept you or not. Good Luck."

Needing Assistance Finding School Supplies Please :o)? I started school supply shopping for my kids and am missing a couple of items that I am having trouble finding. Can anyone suggest any office supply stores or online stores that may carry the following two specific items? 1. 12 x 18 White Drawing Paper (unbound) 2. Primary Writing Tablets for Kindergarten (3/4" rule, red baseline, dotted middle) I noticed that the school sells the bundle now (but I've already purchased almost all of the items) and since it includes these two items, I am wondering where it is possible to purchase them too. Thank you for any info anyone can provided :o)

newyorkergirll replied: "do you have a 5 kids school supply? maybe staples, or office max"

iluvgerry replied: "I have the best luck school shopping at either Staples or Walmart."

Anne D replied: "Avoid Wal-Mart, go for Staples, OfficeMax, the office supply stores. They have a more varied stock of items, and they will last throughout the entire school year as opposed to a few weeks after the rough treatment by kids."

PBcruzr replied: "Come to California, all school supplies are provided free of charge to all public school children. If you must buy, our school district bought school supplies from Staples.Try Office Depot or Lakeshore Teaching Supplies."

nubiangeek replied: "Is there a teacher supply store in your area?"

Does Anyone Remember When We Didn't Have to Buy School Supplies at all Until Jr. High? When I was a child in the 1960s and 1970s we didn't have to buy all that stuff. All the supplies we needed were right there - diff types of paper, pencils, crayons, compasses, etc. And this was a good school, not a poor one. I don't remember having to buy anything beyond a pen or pencil until Jr. High when we had to buy a ghastly ugly jumpsuit for PE and notebook with writing instruments. Yes, we did buy our own paper by that time. I'm not sure when all that changed and parents had to buy more than everything their child would need.

Raverr123 replied: "Its because school budgets got slashed and your tax money got diverted to fighting wars in the middle east and research into useful drugs like Viagara"

Mama J. replied: "I live in a small town where we still do not have to buy anything until 7th grade still. In elementary school all the children need are backpacks and lunch boxes if necessary. We do need supplies at home to do homework such as crayons, colored pencils, markers, erasers, etc. The school district provides everything from paper, pencils, even folders, and notebooks. All they ask is that parents provide something once a month from a list such as tissues, hand sanitizer, cleaning wipes, and other things like that. Once they get to 7th grade though that is another story. I had to go out to buy over $100 in binders and school supplies for my older two kids. I am glad that for the younger two I did not have to buy much."

angel h replied: "u got more then u need"

happy.girl replied: "Maybe the five star folders with 4 pockets are handy to have to organize your papers."

Somily K replied: "That sounds fine but you can call your school and see what they suggest. You should take math and get some pens though. You might also want to get some more regular pencils just for class."

shelley s replied: "Looks like you have most things covered. How about some tiny staples for your tiny stapler and some highlighters. Dont know if they are called the same over there but they are like neon coloured markers that highlight passages of text etc."

Baby_girl72 replied: "Yeah...I think U got all that ya need and MORE~lol..but make sure ya check the school supply lists when it comes in the mail or whatever 2 make sure ya have everything."

aeroparty303 replied: "sounds good to me "

shattermyeverything replied: "you've got it way covered. i just show up w/a notebook, find out what everyone wants and end up with 2 binders a few notebooks and whatevermpens and pencils ive got around. haha you put me to shame"

Philip M replied: "It sounds pretty good, but for art, if you have to do your own sketches you should buy a range of normal lead pencils, or at least both HB and 2B, bu the whole range is better. Also, you should have watercolors, and either chalk or oil pastels. And maybe a sketchbook you can take everywhere in case you feel creative ;) But if it's only graphic design you wouldn't need the watercolors or the range of pencils as much. But even with graphic design it's recommended to learn how to quick sketch and learn different techniques of elaboration. It's more helpful if you do. For Physics you should get a G.D.C., they help a lot with charts, and conversions. For Spanish, a bigger dictionary to have at home would be useful, or you can just go to the library, or check it on-line."

presleybanovich replied: "great"

Grade Seven School Supplies :)? Okay so this is what I have of school supplies for grade seven, is it all or is there something else I should get? Also, i don't need to buy duo-tangs or notebooks or a binder for every subject because our school already provides us with that. *One Big Binder. (For Homework, agenda and papers.) *Markers (The 64 pack!) *Pencil Crayons (24 pack!) *Erasers (5 pack!) *A small Hole puncher I can put in my binder *Led pencils *Led *Lined Paper *Subject dividers for my binder *Blank hole-punched Paper (I didn't buy it, i found it in my drawers.) *One Note Book (for notes and doodles and to write things) *Wax Crayons *Scissors *Mini stapler + Staples *Calculator *Grid Paper *Geometry Set (the most expensive/best one i can find!) *Agenda (i like having my own because the school ones are confusing.) *One hole-punched folder (to put in my binder) *Ruler *Pencil es (wood kind) *Highlighter (2.also the erasable kind.) Is that all? I know I have alot of thing just for grade seven but you see, i hate borrowing stuff from the school and i like having everything when i need it so i dont have to go buy it.

hihihix3 replied: "Seems like a normal school supplies list but, where's the pencil case? Additional items if you want to add: - mini dictionary - mini sticky notes - pens - blank paper"
